Built in 2024 by a retired engineer in Houghton-Le-Spring, England — to prove that multi-voice AI narration of classic books could be delivered completely free. It started as a personal project so a partially sighted woman could listen to her favourite books without paying a penny. Now it is free for everyone, everywhere, in nine languages.

What Makes This Different

Very few audiobook services assign different AI voices to different characters. LibriVox uses a single volunteer narrator. Audible charges £8 a month. How It Works

Type the title or author into the search box. Our system fetches the full text from public domain sources and converts each chapter to audio using neural text-to-speech voices — natural-sounding AI voices, not the robotic voices of the past. Different characters are assigned different voices so the story sounds like a cast, not a single reader. Play chapters back-to-back or jump to any section.

All books are in the public domain — copyright expired. Legally free to read, share, and listen to anywhere in the world. Book texts are sourced from public domain literary archives and digitised editions freely available worldwide.
